Goldener Hirsch – Lubeck’s arts and crafts store for sustainable products and custom gifts, hand-crafted in northern Germany

Our craft businesses process primarily non-toxic natural working materials. Some have dedicated themselves to upcycling: waste glass and old porcelain, driftwood, used sails, and textile remnants are their raw materials, turned for example into the popular Holstentor cushions. Our shared goal is to go easy on resources and avoid waste.

Our sustainable and regional product range includes:

• Everyday items: kitchen utensils and cutting boards crafted from local timber; hand-forged stainless steel knives; upcycled glassware, and ceramic tableware for daily use (slab pottery)

• Stationery: high-quality, stylish writing utensils; hand-made vat paper products; picture postcards, greeting cards; a wide variety of items with drawings by Karin Tauer (Zebrafisch); hand-bound booklets and books, and various organizational aids handmade from cardboard in a small traditional bookbindery

• Decorative items for indoor and outdoor use: Raku pottery, stone pictures, lanterns; upcycled table lamps made from old coffee cups and pots; garden decor items made from ceramics and upcycled glass; „garden ships“

• Custom-made fashion from broadcloth; decorative and foldable felt seat pads; table linen, bags, and sofa cushions made from traditional Southeast Asian fabrics of; bags, wallets, and slippers of all sizes made from vegetable- or mineral-tanned natural leather

• Regional specialities:Marzilade (both a spread and a baking ingredient); Schatoh Feldmark (organic wine); Feldler (fine brandy made from sugar beets grown on the island of Fehmarn); socially responsibly produced HEYHO granola

• Natural cosmetics (Anke Thoma); plastic-free skincare (forpeople); hand-made soap, dishwashing detergent, and laundry detergent for allergy sufferers

• Jewelry crafted from sea glass, china, concrete, stainless steel, and paper
